A little bit about me …

I was born and raised in San Jose, Costa Rica to parents from the United States where I started judo at the age of 14 and competed on the Costa Rican junior national team.

In 2018, I received my black belt under Kenia Rodriquez, a Cuban Olympian and Pan-American champion. After graduating high school, I moved to New York to attend Sarah Lawrence College where I studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. While in college, I took three silver medals at the Collegiate National Judo Championships. In 2017, I became a US National Champion and moved to Manhattan after graduating. I spent several years traveling for international competitions and training camps. During that time, I won a World Cup Bronze and US Open Gold. Since then, I have made my way to Brooklyn where I am currently pursuing my passions as both an athlete and a coach.

Most recently, I have discovered my own growing interest in transferring my judo skills to the greater picture of grappling. This February, I received my purple belt in jiujitsu and am continuing to grow my skills as a judoka, athlete, grappler, and coach.
